Code snippets, scripted objects, and full applications comprise the offerings at the Scriptology Lab. Here, we have scripts that maneuver vehicles, automate functions, and execute database operations that move information from in-world to off-world systems and vice versa. For example, the Avatrian.com website you are currently viewing receives live statistics from data gathered at our simulator in Second Life.

Many items in the Scriptology Lab run as codes that have no visual counterpart. However, some functionalities are directly embedded into virtual objects. The Octo Rider, for example, is Avatrian's gigantic octopus that is ridable, can take various forms, spews out black ink, and navigable in the air and water. It had scripts written as a part of the virtual object to address its specific use (please see image insert on the right). Similarly, our automated Arowana Tour Guide was not only created as a pet that follows avatars around. Additional scripting gave it the ability to 'describe' certain points of interest in the sim. Hence, it becomes a usefull substitute during times when no Avatrian is on-line to show a visitor around.
Currently in the works as part of Scriptology Lab is an application that moves large, multi-prim structures in one command. Primarily, this will be created to aid in the organization of our own sim. Additionally, we are making Proximity Detectors to automate the door controls and access points of building entry ways. In the pipeline, we have plans for creating a Power Pack of useful gadgets in the metaverse...something that can give a leg up to the average avatar.
Whether it is for utility or for fun, products in the Scriptology Lab are ready for your immediate use. Some very handy scripts are even made available as gifts to friends of Avatrian.
